Milette Siler, MBA-HC, RDN, LD, CCMS began her career with the teaching kitchen in 2014 when her institution became the first licensee for the Health Meets Food culinary medicine curriculum. Since that time, Milette has developed hands-on culinary education for cancer survivors served at Moncrief Cancer Institute. Additionally, she helps design and implement research to address barriers to food access and maximize the impact of food banks to improve health and nutrition security for underserved communities in North Texas. In 2019, Milette was awarded a UT Systems Education Innovation Award for her work as lead culinary instructor for the UTSW medical school.More recently, Ms. Siler co-created the UTSW Culinary Medicine clinical service line, blending teaching kitchen principles with traditional, reimbursable clinical models. She and her partner, Dr. Jaclyn Albin, received “Best Overall Abstract” at the 2022 Teaching Kitchen Collaborative International Research Conference in recognition of this innovation.
